The Challenge

Ingram Content Group was facing pressure from rising labor costs and difficulty retaining warehouse associates.

At the same time, Ingram struggled to keep up with increasing eCommerce demand using highly manual picking operations, and reached out to Bricz for expertise in the robotics and automation space to relieve their growing labor challenges.

What Bricz Did

The Bricz team used a vendor-agnostic approach to evaluate more than 250 automation providers for solution fit, then advanced the 13 most qualified vendors to detailed design.

Through a structured Discover, Analyze, and Recommend approach, mapping operational pain points and KPIs, quantifying ROI and TCO for each use case, and building a network-wide deployment and change-management roadmap, Bricz compared vendors on ROI, TCO, operational disruption, and implementation timeline, then recommended a phased rollout plan to maximize labor savings and throughput.

Solutions recommended

  • AGV
  • AMR
  • AS/RS
  • Automated packing
“As we embarked on a robotics journey, we were looking for a consulting partner that understood pick assist, AGVs, ASRS, and more. In Bricz, we found the right unbiased partner to help us develop a roadmap that would maximize our ROI and would put us on the path to success.”

The Results

Bricz recommended a combination of automation solutions projected to deliver over $187M in savings across a 10-year period, driven by labor reduction, reduced training time, material savings, storage density improvement, and picking efficiency.

The findings were presented in a roadmap that outlined an implementation timeline for Ingram’s four-facility network.
